About Us

Half Eight are an award-winning quartet formed in 2010 that specialises in 4 part a-cappella harmony in the Barbershop Style which produces exciting chords in very close harmony.

We are also members of the 35 member Southern Union Chorus based in Bournemouth that performs in national and local contests every year.

timTim Nuttall is our Lead Singer. Tim works as a self-employed basket ball coach for local schools. Apart from singing lead he is also an experienced Tenor, so he keeps our Tenor Dave on his toes!

mikeMike Lofthouse sings Bass. He has been in Barbershop for over 20 years and has won medals for barbershop singing. He also directs the Southern Union Chorus, the only male Barbershop chorus in Dorset.

dave2Dave Enness sings Tenor and has been singing since he was a boy in the church choir. He has sung in operatic societies and played cameo roles on the stage. Dave is a comedian who can make Tim laugh when singing, so Tim has to be on his guard!

littlemeGreg Mathews sings Baritone. Baritones have the odd notes that no one else wants to sing. He sang as a treble and soprano in a London church choir as a boy and recently started barbershop with the Southern Union Chorus.
